Leaders Social insight · Analysis by Fox Tucker
LinkedIn® has made an unusually direct argument about the future of B2B content: when artificial intelligence makes production easier, content volume itself becomes less valuable. Reputation, trust and recognisable human judgement become the differentiators.
Drawing on discussions at VivaTech 2026, LinkedIn® points to executive thought leadership, organisational credibility and what it calls marketing to machines. The underlying proposition is that both buyers and AI systems need reliable signals about who should be trusted.
AI has changed the scarcity
For years, producing enough content was a genuine constraint. AI has reduced that constraint dramatically. Companies can now generate competent copy, summaries and variations at speed.
The scarce element is no longer the ability to fill a content calendar. It is the ability to contribute informed judgement that can be connected to accountable people and credible organisations.
Why executive visibility matters
LinkedIn® uses Siemens as an example of sustained executive communication helping shape a company’s reputation. The lesson is not that every chief executive needs to become a high-frequency creator. It is that visible leadership can make an organisation’s strategy, expertise and decisions more understandable.
A leader’s contribution works best when it connects to the wider company presence. The executive voice adds human interpretation; the Company Page provides continuity, organisational context and a durable record.
Marketing to machines does not mean writing for machines
AI systems increasingly mediate discovery, but responding with generic machine-produced content is unlikely to build a distinctive reputation. Retrieval systems need clear language and structure, yet they also need evidence that can be attributed and corroborated.
The practical objective is therefore to make genuine expertise legible: name the people behind ideas, answer specific questions, use consistent terminology, cite evidence and publish enough connected material for a reliable pattern to emerge.
Leaders Social assessment
LinkedIn® is right that reputation is becoming infrastructure. A company cannot manufacture it with one campaign, and a leader cannot create it through occasional bursts of visibility.
The organisations most likely to benefit from AI-mediated discovery will be those that make credible knowledge consistently available across their website, Company Page, leaders and external sources. AI may accelerate production, but human judgement determines whether the result deserves to be remembered or cited.
