How to Prepare for LinkedIn® Coaching or a Strategy Consultation

A productive LinkedIn® coaching session starts before the call begins.

You do not need a finished strategy before speaking with a LinkedIn® coach or consultant. You do need enough context to define the problem and decide what a useful outcome would look like.

1. Choose the primary objective

Identify the main job LinkedIn® needs to support: professional reputation, corporate visibility, recruitment, customer confidence, business development, career direction, partnerships, or industry contribution.

Several may matter, but choosing one primary objective gives the conversation focus.

2. Identify the affected assets

Decide whether the issue sits with an individual profile, leadership team, Company Page, newsletter, content process, employee participation, or the relationship between them.

3. Bring useful context

Relevant material may include:

  • your profile and Company Page links;
  • the company website;
  • your role and current priorities;
  • examples of content or profiles you consider effective;
  • recent analytics, if performance is part of the question;
  • brand, compliance, or approval constraints;
  • the time and people available for implementation.

4. Write down the friction

Be specific about what is not working. “I need more visibility” is difficult to solve. “Our Company Page has no clear owner and leadership activity is disconnected from it” points toward a real decision.

5. Decide what kind of help you need

  • Coaching or consultation helps you make decisions you will implement.
  • Optimization improves a defined profile or Page.
  • Management provides ongoing ownership and delivery.

A good adviser should tell you when the format you requested is not sufficient—or is more than you need.

6. Prepare questions

Ask about scope, deliverables, who performs the work, preparation, revisions, implementation, support, measurement, and exclusions. Do not accept guarantees of reach, leads, or algorithm performance.

7. Define a useful result from the conversation

You may need a prioritized action plan, a decision between services, a clearer purpose, or confirmation that no paid work is necessary yet. Agree on that result at the start.

The Leaders Social position

Leaders Social does not currently sell standalone 30-minute coaching sessions. Fox Tucker personally delivers defined profile, Company Page, newsletter, and Company Page Management services.

A discovery call can establish whether one of those services fits the problem. Employee coaching and agreed executive writing can also be included within Company Page Management where relevant.

Review the current services and prices before you book a discovery call.
