LinkedIn can be a bit overwhelming for new and experienced users alike. The keys to success on LinkedIn are discoverability, visibility, and reach.

My two-part approach can help it become much more manageable, and make LinkedIn less of a chore and become valuable part of your professional arsenal.


  • Discoverability refers to the ease with which your LinkedIn profile can be found by others, particularly when they use LinkedIn’s search function. This includes being found by recruiters, potential employers, clients, and other professionals within your industry.
  • Visibility on LinkedIn pertains to how often your profile, posts, and activities appear in the feeds of other LinkedIn users. This is influenced by your network size, engagement with posts (likes, comments, shares), and the consistency of your activity on the platform.
  • Reach is the extent to which your content is seen by LinkedIn users beyond your immediate network. This includes the number of people who view, like, comment on, and share your posts. Reach is a measure of how far your content travels across LinkedIn, impacting users who are not directly connected to you.

I break it down into two lists. On List 1 are things you need only do once. On List 2 are things you develop a habit of doing regularly.
