Guide to All Star LinkedIn® Profile

You achieve All Star status by completing seven specific sections of your LinkedIn® Profile.

The Benefits Of An All Star LinkedIn® Profile

Be found more. Be seen more. Achieving All Star improves the discoverability of your profile in search results, and increases profile search appearances.

Achieving All Star status unlocks other benefits. For example, it’s one of the prerequisites to being invited to contribute to LinkedIn® Collaborative Articles, which in turn can lead to you being awarded a Top Voice Badge.

Go Beyond Beginner and Intermediate

Everyone on LinkedIn® starts off as a Beginner, and upon completing four sections you advance to Intermediate, by adding the remaining recommended sections (a total of seven) you will achieve an All-star LinkedIn® profile.

This guide shows you how to go straight to All Star!

A profile level meter shows you how complete your profile is. The completeness level of your profile will increase as you add more suggested sections. This helps improve the discoverability of your profile in search results, and to increase profile search appearances.

The profile level meter is displayed on both desktop and the LinkedIn® mobile app.

Your profile level is only visible to you.

The Seven Sections To Complete

After starting off as a Beginner, you can add the following seven recommended sections to achieve an All-star profile:

  • Profile Photo
  • Location
  • Industry
  • Education (I achieved All Star without this)
  • Position
  • Skills
  • Summary
