Update: LinkedIn® Creator Mode Retired February 2024
Like many changes made by LinkedIn®, it took many weeks to reach the last of the 50+ colleagues that I lead on LinkedIn®. As of June 2024 LinkedIn® Creator Mode has disappeared from all LinkedIn® Profiles.
Many of the useful Creator Mode features have already been activated on your LinkedIn® Profile.

The Visibility Boost You’ve Been Missing
Have you ever felt invisible on LinkedIn®? If you’re struggling to get your content noticed, there’s a simple solution that will increase your reach by 15-35%: Activating LinkedIn® Creator Mode.
I’ve helped 100’s of thought leaders, c-suite executives, directors, founders, managers, editors, sales professionals, and social media executives make the switch. Not one of them has switched back.

From the name, you might think Creator Mode is only for graphic designers and videographers… people that make posh content using expensive kit. Absolutely not!
UPDATE: Early December 2023 – LinkedIn® recognised this by renaming/rebranding from LinkedIn® Creators to LinkedIn® Guide to Creating.
Every post you have already published is defined as ‘content’ by LinkedIn®. Like it or not that makes you a ‘creator’. Welcome aboard!
Making the switch to Creator Mode unlocks new features and new personal analytics. You can carry on doing exactly the same type of post afterwards but with 15-35% more reach.
I’ve helped 100’s thought leaders, c-suite executives, directors, founders, managers, editors, sales professionals, and social media executives all make the switch. Not one of them has switched back.
- Professional Profile: Keep your professional standing, job search capabilities, and job recommendations.
- Networking Opportunities: Continue expanding your network, engaging in group discussions, and interacting with content.
- Direct Messaging: Maintain your ability to communicate directly with your connections.
Some of these features have Access Criteria that include:
- An audience base of more than 150 followers and/or connections.
- Recent shares on LinkedIn® of any type of original content (including short form posts, images, videos, events, polls, and articles).
- A history of abiding by LinkedIn®’s Professional Community Policies and a good standing record on LinkedIn.
Here are my favourites:
- Follow Button: This makes it easier for people to follow you without becoming a connection. Your current connections automatically become followers.
- Profile Optimization: Enhances your profile’s layout to better showcase your featured content, hashtags, and topics.
- LinkedIn® Articles: Share long-form content to provide in-depth insights and showcase your industry expertise.
- LinkedIn® Video: Engage your audience with educational, behind-the-scenes, or interview-style videos.
- Analytics: Access detailed analytics for your content, including views, engagement, and audience demographics.
This is a cracking feature for freelancers and side hustlers. Add your services and they’ll be listed at the top of your profile. Makes it easy to generate leads/receive enquiries.
- LinkedIn® Live Video: Broadcast live video content like webinars, Q&A sessions, and presentations.
- LinkedIn® Audio Events: Broadcast Live Audio content in a similar way.
LinkedIn® Creator Mode is a valuable tool for anyone posting regularly on the platform. It’s a risk-free upgrade that offers a variety of benefits, from increased visibility to enhanced networking opportunities. Why wait? Make the switch today and start reaping the benefits!
