How to be a Top LinkedIn Content Creator

I’m sharing how to nail becoming a Top Content Creator on LinkedIn in 2024.

Most start by suggesting you choose a niche. It is a vital step, but I bump it to my second suggestion in favour of first highlighting that developing an interest in analytics will reward you greatly a bit further down the line.

So…

1: Develop a taste for Analytics

It’s not sexy. You’ll most likely skip it, but hey ho… Horse. Water. Drink. Don’t Drink. Up to you.

Here are the 8 core action points…

2: Choose Your Niche

Choosing a niche is the bold step to take. Foster a clear focus, specialise in a topic you are genuinely passionate about. This isn’t enough though.

3: Keep Learning About Your Niche

Commit to learning, every single day. Read all you can about your industry. Get updated, stay informed. Your audience will appreciate your knowledge every time they read your content.

4: Keep Creating Content

Write. Write. Write again. Regular practice hones your skills and helps you discover your distinctive style. You don’t have to publish everything you write, but the practice will also build confidence.

5: Start Establishing Your Personal Brand

Your voice is your unique imprint in the vast world of content. Establish it firmly. It’s not just about what you say, but how you say it, so be brave, be you!

6: Start To Know Your Audience

Studying your audience is a pivotal key. Who are they? What do they want? What are their pain points? Answer these questions and you’ll tailor content they’ll relate to.

7: Know Your Key Performance Indicators

Understanding your KPIs is a must. Know what success looks like for you. Learn to measure performance and adjust your strategies accordingly. Here’s where point number one kicks in.

8: Watch Your Niche Peers

Being a content creator also means being a content curator. It’s an art. Blend other people’s content into yours when it ties into your narrative. This enriches your work and diversifies your offerings. Always give credit where credit is due.

9: Network, Connect, and Engage, Engage, Engage

Finally, Networking. It’s the golden bridge to opportunities. Engage with industry leaders, influencers, and followers. GO BEYOND THE LIKE BUTTON. COMMENT! It broadens your horizon and opens unexpected doors.

Remember, being a successful content creator requires a mix of creativity, dedication, and strategic thinking… and ruddy analytics. Ready to dive in?
